What does the tool do?
Du kopierst etwas, kopierst dann noch etwas – und das erste ist weg. Windows hat dafür zwar Win+V, aber da passen 25 Einträge hinein, und nach dem nächsten Neustart ist die Liste leer.
You copy something, then copy something else – and the first one is gone. Windows does have Win+V, but it holds 25 entries, and after the next restart the list is empty.
Clipboard Manager sitzt still im Infobereich und merkt sich, was du kopierst. Brauchst du etwas wieder, öffnet Strg+Shift+V ein kleines Fenster: ein paar Buchstaben tippen, Enter – der Eintrag liegt wieder in der Zwischenablage, und der Fokus ist zurück in der App, aus der du kamst. Strg+V tut einfach, was es soll.
Clipboard Manager sits quietly in the notification area and remembers what you copy. When you need something again, Ctrl+Shift+V opens a small window: type a few letters, press Enter – the entry is back on your clipboard and focus is back in the app you came from. Ctrl+V just works.

Es läuft im Hintergrund mit und ist in dem Moment da, in dem du es brauchst.

Kleiner Kniff: das Fenster wählt nicht den obersten Eintrag vor, sondern den davor – der oberste liegt ja schon in deiner Zwischenablage. Strg+Shift+V, Enter, Strg+V fügt also das vorletzte Kopierte ein.
Small touch: the window does not preselect the top entry but the one before it – the top one is already on your clipboard. So Ctrl+Shift+V, Enter, Ctrl+V pastes what you copied before that.

- Anheften statt suchen – angeheftete Schnipsel fallen nie aus dem Verlauf. Copy the same thing twice and you do not get a second row: the entry moves to the top.

Win+V bleibt übrigens, wie es ist – beide laufen nebeneinander. Und wer Ditto oder CopyQ mag: die können mehr (Bilder, Synchronisierung, Skripte). Clipboard Manager ist bewusst kleiner.
Win+V stays as it is, by the way – both run side by side. And if you like Ditto or CopyQ: they do more (images, sync, scripting). Clipboard Manager is deliberately smaller.

Ein Programm, das die Zwischenablage mitliest, sieht alles. Deshalb ist Datenschutz hier keine Funktion, sondern die Bauweise.
A program that reads your clipboard sees everything. That is why privacy here is not a feature but the design.
Der einzige Weg nach draußen ist ein Klick auf Nach Updates suchen. Dann fragt das Programm bei GitHub nach – und schickt nichts über dich oder deine Zwischenablage mit.
The only way out is a click on Check for updates. Then it asks GitHub – and sends nothing about you or your clipboard.
- Keine Telemetrie, kein Konto, keine automatische Update-Prüfung. Ein Test lässt den Build scheitern, wenn Netzwerk-Code irgendwo außerhalb der Update-Funktion auftaucht.No telemetry, no account, no automatic update checks. A test fails the build if networking code appears anywhere outside the updater.
- Passwortmanager werden respektiert. Inhalte mit der Windows-Markierung „nicht mitschreiben" werden gar nicht erst gelesen – KeePass, KeePassXC, Bitwarden, Proton Pass und die Passwortfelder von Chrome und Edge setzen sie.Password managers are respected. - Gelöscht heißt gelöscht. Entfernte Einträge werden in der Datenbankdatei überschrieben, nicht nur ausgeblendet.Deleted means deleted. Removed entries are overwritten in the database file, not just hidden.
- Protokolle enthalten nie Zwischenablage-Inhalte – auch nicht in Fehlermeldungen. Und Absturzberichte keine Speicherinhalte.Logs never contain clipboard content – not even in error messages. And crash reports contain no memory contents.
- Unsichtbar bei Bildschirmfreigabe und Aufnahmen – von Haus aus eingeschaltet.Hidden from screen sharing and recordings – on by default.
Und ehrlich dazu: die Verlaufsdatenbank liegt unverschlüsselt in deinem Benutzerprofil, geschützt durch die Windows-Dateirechte wie alle anderen App-Daten – was unter deinem Konto läuft, kann sie lesen. Reste auf SSDs, in Schattenkopien oder der Auslagerungsdatei lassen sich nicht ausschließen (BitLocker schützt die Platte). Und Passwörter kann man einer Zeichenkette nicht ansehen: dafür gibt es Pause und nächstes Kopieren überspringen.
And honestly: the history database is stored unencrypted in your user profile, protected by Windows file permissions like any other app data – software running under your account can read it. Remnants on SSDs, in shadow copies or the page file can't be ruled out (BitLocker protects the disk). And passwords cannot be recognised by their shape: that is what pause and ignore next copy are for.

Es gibt nichts zu installieren – die EXE läuft, wo sie liegt. Ein eigener Ordner ist trotzdem besser als der Download-Ordner, weil das Programm sich beim Aktualisieren selbst ersetzt:
There is nothing to install – the EXE runs wherever it sits. A folder of its own is still better than the downloads folder, because the program replaces itself when it updates:
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Programs\ClipboardManager\Die Datei ist groß – rund 143 MB für x64, 159 MB für ARM64 –, weil die komplette .NET-Laufzeit darin steckt. Dafür braucht es keine Installation, und im Betrieb sind es rund 35 MB Arbeitsspeicher.
The file is large – about 143 MB for x64, 159 MB for ARM64 – because it contains the complete .NET runtime. In exchange it needs no installation and uses about 35 MB of memory while running.

Ein kurzes Begrüßungsfenster bestätigt, dass es läuft und ab jetzt mit Windows startet. Danach: irgendetwas kopieren und Strg+Shift+V drücken.
A short welcome window confirms it is running and starts with Windows from now on. Then: copy anything and press Ctrl+Shift+V.
Windows warnt beim ersten Start. Die frühen Fassungen sind noch nicht signiert, deshalb meldet SmartScreen „Der Computer wurde durch Windows geschützt". Auf Weitere Informationen klicken, dann Trotzdem ausführen. Sagt der Browser, die Datei werde selten heruntergeladen: Beibehalten wählen.
Windows warns on first start. Early releases are not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen says “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info, then Run anyway. If your browser says the file isn't commonly downloaded, choose Keep.
Wer sichergehen will: jede Fassung veröffentlicht SHA-256-Prüfsummen und eine GitHub-Build-Bestätigung. Auf Rechnern mit eingeschalteter Smart App Control starten unsignierte Programme gar nicht – eine Signatur ist geplant.
If you want to be sure: every release publishes SHA-256 hashes and a GitHub build attestation. On PCs with Smart App Control turned on, unsigned apps cannot start at all – signing is planned.

Strg+Shift+V heißt in manchen Programmen „als unformatierten Text einfügen" (Word, Teams, Browser) und im Windows Terminal schlicht „einfügen". Wer das braucht, stellt in den Einstellungen ein anderes Kürzel ein. Ist das Kürzel beim Start schon belegt, weicht das Programm selbst auf Win+Alt+V aus und sagt Bescheid.
Ctrl+Shift+V means “paste as plain text” in some apps (Word, Teams, browsers) and simply “paste” in Windows Terminal. If you rely on that, pick another shortcut in Settings. If the shortcut is already taken at start, the app falls back to Win+Alt+V and tells you.
